Ministry of a Meal: The Series
AT THE TABLE
Jesus attends a banquet at Matthew’s house in Matthew Chapter 9 and is accused of eating with sinners. However, when Jesus is at your table there is grace, acceptance and blessing.
FRIENDS, FOOD & FELLOWSHIP
In Matthew Chapter 26 Jesus has his final meal with his disciples and there he confronts both Judas who would betray him and Peter who would deny him. The tension must have been almost visible, but Jesus still ministered to his disciples.
THE MEAL AND THE MASTER
In the book of Genesis, God gives a commandment to Adam and Eve to freely eat of every tree in the garden, except for the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Did you know that the very first sin, was in the context of eating a meal?
HANDS AT THE DINNER TABLE
In the book of Luke Chapter 11 Jesus reveals his theology of holiness at a meal, when he confronts the Pharisees for being more concerned about the outside rather than the inside.
A MOTHER IN THE MESS HALL
The delivery of a baby is an extraordinary event. It is so important to make sure the mother is comfortable and that the place where the baby will be delivered is sterilized. However, that was not the case when Jesus was born. Mary and Joseph had been traveling for days and when she gave birth, the bible says she had to place Jesus in strips of cloths and lay him in a feeding trough called a Manger.
